Learn to meditate

The School has been at 158 Holland Park Ave London W11 4UH for 50 years and has been teaching meditation and supporting meditators throughout that time. The first step in becoming a member is to be given the mantra, one word to be sounded internally. This is done in a short, simple ceremony. The School then gives a lifetimes support in the practice of meditation on a one to one basis with an experienced meditator. Weekly groups are available in the evenings for those who wish to experience meditation with others and explore the philosophical background of the practice. For those wishing to attend, the School also runs two long weekend retreats during the course of the year.

Lifetime membership of the School of Meditation is based on a contribution that should be both generous and meaningful with an advised figure of £200.  Individual situations can be considered.  This donation is used to help promote the work of the school and keep the way open for new meditators.

Prior to joining the School you can also 1) attend a free Open Evening (see details under Learn/Open Evening on the Home page, 2) attend a free Open Door session (Learn/Open Door on Home page) and for one hour join in with simple restful, meditation-related exercises that will help you to get a feel of the School, 3) join a 4-week Introductory Course (Learn/Introductory Courses on Home page) costing £50, or 4) if you know you just need to learn to meditate, you can call Tessa and make an appointment.  Her hours are 9.30am to 4.00pm.
